The Noise Abatement Society is a registered charity, entirely dependent on voluntary donations. Our remit is to raise awareness of, and find solutions to, noise pollution which profoundly affects public health, productivity and quality of life and wildlife.
Now celebrating its 50th year, the Society was established in 1959 by John Connell OBE who successfully lobbied the Noise Abatement Act through Parliament in 1960, establishing noise as a statutory nuisance for the first time in the UK.
Our future plans
The Noise Abatement Society will continue to work today for the alleviation of unnecessary noise in all its forms for the public benefit, and to offer information, empowerment and support to protect us all from excessive noise disturbance.
Help us to maintain a service and continue to help the public.
All contributions are gratefully received.
